UNM Children's Hospital, a division of the University of New Mexico Health Science Center (UNMHSC), is an academic medical center with health care providers who are expertly trained to provide the most advanced neonatology and pediatric care available in New Mexico. Our care ranges from Ambulatory care outpatient clinics to inpatient units providing the highest level of intensive care hospitalization. Each year UNM Children's Hospital cares for nearly 40,000 children, more than 50 percent of whom live outside of the Albuquerque area.

Located in Albuquerque, it provides caring and coordinated healthcare to children and adolescents with complex musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, rehabilitation needs, developmental issues and long-term physical disabilities.

UNM Children's Psychiatric Center Children's Psychiatric Center

UNM Children's Psychiatric Center (CPC) provides intensive psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents through the age of 17, without regard to the family's financial resources.  Care, including acute inpatient, residential and partial (day) hospital, is provided in various settings on the CPC campus.

  • We have state-of-the-art neonatal and pediatric intensive care in our 60-bed Level III NICU and 21-bed PICU
  • Staffing with 24-hour-a-day, in-house coverage by neonatologists and pediatric intensivists
  • Pediatric hospitalists to manage general pediatric patients on our beautifully muraled 35-bed pediatric ward
  • 17 specialty medical services, including pediatric cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology and plastic surgery.
  • Six different surgical subspecialties, including New Mexico’s only pediatric heart surgery services

What is CMN?

The Children's Miracle Network is an alliance of premier children's hospitals.Every year, Children's Miracle Network hospitals treat 17 million children for every disease and injury imaginable. Children's hospitals provide state-of-the-art care, life-saving research and preventative education for children 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is a Children's Miracle Network hospital dedicated to serving children in every community across the United States and Canada. These hospitals are committed to providing the best care for children when they need it.

How did Children's Miracle Network get started?

Children’s Miracle Network began as a small, televised fund raiser in a small studio in 1983. Marie Osmond and John Schneider co-founded the effort along with a small-dedicated team of 20 children’s hospitals, 20 television stations, six sponsors and a handful of national staff.

Today, Children’s Miracle Network is comprised of 170 affiliated hospitals, 107 television partners, 270 radio partners and 75 national corporate sponsors.

On our Teddy Bear Legacy page families making funeral arrangements may create a Teddy Bear Legacy in the name of their deceased loved one. The short registration form will allow family and friends to easily donate huggable stuffed animals in the name of your loved one to children in whichever Children's Miracle Network hospital you choose.
